This is an original, vintage poster for the Soviet film Don Quixote (Дон Кихот) from 1957. The film was directed by Grigori Kozintsev and is based on Evgeny Shvartz's stage adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes's novel. The film was entered into the 1957 Cannes Film Festival.

Poster & Artist:

This poster was printed in Moscow by Reklamfilm (Рекламфильм) on February 22nd, 1982. It was designed by Yaroslav Manukhin (Ярослав Манухин) a well known artist who was active from 1951 until 1965. He designed several very well known posters including the 1960 Soviet release of Roman Holiday. 

Size & Condition:

The poster measures 16 1/4 x 23 3/4 inches (41 x 60 cm). It is in very good condition with light creasing, some discoloration along the folds and bottom of the poster. Displays very well as-is. The photos attached are of the poster itself, we only have one.

Don Quixote (Дон Кихот) is a 1957 Soviet drama film directed by Grigori Kozintsev. It is based on Evgeny Shvartz's stage adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes's novel. The film was entered into the 1957 Cannes Film Festival and was shown in the West in the mid-1960s. It was the first film version of Don Quixote to be filmed in both widescreen and color and is considered a classic Soviet film. Watch it here...
